- our setting within Sydney Gardens once a Georgian Pleasure Garden of great fame!
As a Museum of Art all our workshops combine exploring the museum galleries with ‘hands-on’ creative making. Our focus is on learning through curiosity and creativity!

Fast paced and fun, Bath Portrait Club welcomes everyone (not just artists!) to have a go at drawing a face, with sitters changing every 15 minutes.
Based in our beautiful Brownsword Gallery, all materials provided

Home Education workshop - A Sustainable Georgian
This workshop is specifically programmed for home educators (5-8yrs) to access and enjoy the museum's collection through exploration and creativity.
Wednesday 24th September 2025, 10am - 12noon
16 places available = £8 per child + £2 booking fee (all children must be supported by an adult throughout the workshop)
In this workshop pupils will:-
- Learn about the trends and fashions of Georgian Bath with an eco-friendly twist!
- Explore objects in the Holburne collection that showcase examples of Georgian Fashion and learn how the Georgians tried to be sustainable.
- Learn how to create a playful self-portrait as a Georgian, developing embossing, collage and drawing skills with sustainable and secondhand materials.
The workshop structure includes 30 minutes of led activities exploring the museum galleries, followed by a 1.5hrs making session.
Children with Additional Needs – It is essential to discuss any special needs your child may have with the Learning and Engagement Officer prior to booking to assess the suitability of the workshop for your child (01225 388568) and the levels of support we are able to offer. The Museum is fully accessible, with an accessible toilet on the ground floor.

Scent and Sensibility: Exploring colonial legacies through aromatherapy
Thursday 9 October | 10.30am - 1pm | £25pp*
Explore the hidden legacies of colonialism in the museum’s collection - through scent. In this unique sensory workshop, aromatherapist and botanical perfumer Lindsay Woodman invites you to engage with these histories in an embodied way. Drawing on her creative response to our collection, Lindsay will guide you in making your own therapeutic pulse-point perfume to take home.
